Good morning, my Capitalist Pigs!

Thrifty Thursday^** for November 6, 2008, the first Thursday after our presidential election, finds this entrepreneur and business owner very disturbed and upset by the outcome of the election. (I’m even more concerned about the adoring crowds looking to President-elect Obama as the 2nd coming of Christ, but that’s a different topic.) Here’s the way success happens in America: go to school, get good grades, graduate from high school, get a college education and graduate from college, start a business, sell some widgets, sell more widgets and hire more employees, expand production and hire more people, sell more widgets, etc. Success doesn’t go down because the idiot in the White House wants to “spread the wealth.” It’s my wealth. I’ve worked for it, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to continue to fork over my money in taxes to support the folks in this town. I’m tired of and pissed off at the long-term welfare recipients in this town, the same folks who continue to have children they can’t afford, and the same folks who buy lottery tickets. (Let’s discuss lottery ticket purchases: one of my poker playing buddies, a female with several children who’s on welfare, estimates she’s purchased $12,000.00 in lottery tickets, of all types, during the last 2 years. She estimates she’s won close to $750.00 off those tickets. Am I the crazy one here?) I’m tired of girls like my former neighbor who had 3 children by 3 different men before she was twenty-one. I’m tired of the folks who claim they can’t work, but they’re outside all day long, walking their dogs, drinking their beer and then going inside their dirty and messy apartments to watch their DISH network. I am not here to support you financially; that’s not my responsibility. I can’t recall the last time I was so upset with the outcome of a presidential election, and I’m sure I’ll be shooting off at the mouth for months to come.

Thrifty Thursday^** for October 2, 2008 is dedicated to one of my favorite segments of the American population, The Capitalist Pig. Your spunk, your drive, your team-building efforts, and your exploitation of all that’s good of the American business experience keep me motivated and hungry, and of course fill me with a sense of awe and wonder. I’m thrilled I was born in America, and my Capitalist Pigs are one of the many reasons why!

(I digress: A sidebar for John McCain. When presented with the question of how many homes do you and Mrs. McCain own, instead of responding with you’ll need to ask your staff, your response should have had both guns blazing. Mrs. McCain is rich, and you’re not doing so bad yourself, because of the hard work and successes achieved by your respective families, and of course your own business activities. Stop denigrating those successes, and instead celebrate them! What’s wrong with owning multiple homes and cars? Absolutely nothing, sweetheart, and more power to you. Stop the political correctness and how you think your handlers want you to respond. When I’m presented with a similar question, I respond with “my husband and I own three residential properties and one commercial structure.” I don’t need to ask my staff, nor my handlers, about how I should respond. Why do you?)
