Annie Z. “gets it” … why don’t you?

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Good morning, Sharks!

Shame on me! I see it’s been quite a while since I’ve awarded DavisVA’s Killer Customer Care Award. What can I say? Few folks/companies have stepped up to the plate and wowed me with their service. Sad, yes?

Well, I’m happy to report that another babe in business “gets it.” I’m speaking of Ann Zuccardy at Vermont Shortbread Company. Of course, Ann and her merry band of bakers produce shortbread that’s the stuff of legend. In other words, it’s so good I’d eat broccoli if it meant Ann’s shortbread was also on the plate. But, it’s more than the homemade goodness which appeals to me. More so, it’s Ann’s understanding that when I send a VSC gift certificate to a client or someone on my Referral Network, she understands and appreciates how important this is for ME. She’s kind, considerate, funny and she takes care of my orders lickety-split. Whether I’m sending a gift certificate or the real thing, I know I’m in good hands.

Kudos and a big shout to the team at the Vermont Shortbread Company. Keep up the good work!

Buy a gift certificate and win some scrumptious shortbread

Ann Zuccardy of Vermont Shortbread Company talked about yours truly in a recent blog post. Thanks again, Ann, for mentioning Davis Virtual Assistants!

So, here’s the scoop for November 2006: When you buy a virtual assistance gift certifcate during November 2006, you’ll be entered into a drawing to receive a gift, from me, of scrumptious and buttery shortbread from Ann Zuccardy. Two fantastic gifts in one! Your kind gift of virtual assistance to the crazed small business owner in your life, plus the chance to partake of the best shortbread this side of the Mississippi River. Correction: The finest shortbread in America. Hmmmm … one more correction: The best shortbread in the Milky Way galaxy!

It’s beginning to look a lot like … well, lots of things actually! The holiday season will be here before we know it and we’ll also think about purchasing gifts for our very best clients. And, let’s be honest, we all need a special treat every now and then …

When you’re in the market for something to satisfy all of these needs, I recommend you visit Ann Zuccardy at Vermont Shortbread Company. Ann’s handcrafted and homemade shortbread delights are quite simply THE best in the land. Correction, THE best in the universe. I’m lucky to count myself as someone who’s received her shortbread as a gift and in turn, many of DavisVA’s clients have also tasted the goodness of light and buttery shortbread from Vermont Shortbread. The pics on Ann’s website simply do not do justice to her products; you’ll see what I mean when you open the beautifully wrapped shortbread for yourself!

Scamper on over to Vermont Shortbread and place your order today. I recommend the Raspberry Jam flavor! Also, don’t forget to place an order for Ann’s Shorties and give a special treat to your mail carrier, the plumber and the other folks in your life who deserve a special “thank you.” (I’ve given shortbread to my mail carrier and she absolutely loved it!)

Are you still here? It’s okay … you have my permission to leave my blog for a bit … This way to the very best shortbread in the land!

Gangsta Weird Al

Leave it to the Shortbread Queen to make me giggle very late on a Monday night … as I’m burning the midnight oil … all the while I need some juice and something in my tummy to stop it from rumbling … hey, no one ever said owning your own biz was easy … ;-)

For my fellow Weird Al fans out there, I present “White and Nerdy.” Do YOU know PI to a thousand places? Bonus points if you can name the former teen idol who’s dancing with Weird Al …

Raspberry Shortbread. Go!

The goodness of a surprise

Friday, June 9th, 2006

Guess what my wonderful mail carrier dropped off at my home yesterday? Go ahead … guess. I’ll give you 30 seconds. [Cue the "Jeopardy" theme.]

Give up? It was shortbread from Vermont Shortbread Company! Imagine that Dina, Head Copy Chick at Wordfeeder.com wanted to help me celebrate Virtual Assistants day, and she and Ann sent me the scrumpdilicious gift of shorbread. I feel very special!

It’s this type of gesture that really makes me smile. Knowing that someone was thinking of me and wanted to surprise me. It’s those moments when we take the time to say “thank you” or “I appreciate you” that make all the difference in the world. I think we all get caught up, and at times overwhelmed, in our day to day activities of family, friends and business, and that sometimes we forget a simple act of kindness or a kind word really do mean a great deal to the recipient.

I’m happy to report the entire shortbread has been consumed. No, no .. I DID NOT consume the entire thing, though I could have. Hubster Joe, our contractors and our mail carrier received their own special “thank you,” from me to them.

To Dina Giolitto and Ann Zuccardy I say thank you!
